Hi My Name is Stephen. I am an apsiring software engineer. I have experience in web development and Android development. I've had the privilege of interning at a start-up as well as a large company, and now I am ready to start my career as a full-time developer.

My biggest passion is building and creating. Ever since I could remember, I was always expressing myself through what I created. My favorite toy as a child was LEGOs and it got even better once I discovered the magic of blocks once I got my hands on Minecraft.

Ever since I first started learning software, I have been able to fulfil my passion through whatever I create in software. The applications are nearly endless and there is so much to learn and discover. Every day is a chance for me to learn and build, and I will continue this excitement wherever I go.

Designed and implemented a notification center for Prime Video Android app to persist, manage, and access app notifications and their link functionality using Amazon's internal Figma tool, Kotlin, and Java. Built using MVP design pattern full-stack using Android Layouts for the Front-end and a SQL database.

Develop Gmail plugin to display API of AR invoice emails in inbox using Google App Scripts - Google Javascript. Implement front-end architecture of AR dashboard and email service using React. Designed connector to Sage Intacct endpoints to import user data using C# and Microsoft Azure Blob Storage.

Analyzed and implemented algorithms from research literature for networking optimization that decreased latency using Python, C++, and Julia. Wrote portion of research paper for publication and present findings at conference (SRP@ UCSD).

Authored C++ guidebook for beginner and intermediate programming students

Assisted classroom as a tutor for 2 years. Graded student homework assignments and held office hours. Led classroom as a teaching assistant for 2 years. Graded student homework assignments and exams as well as holding office hours and discussion sessions. Classes include: Electronic circuits II, Introduction to C, Introduction to C++, Advanced C++/Software Foundations

Accepted customer orders, created and processed invoices/quotes, packaged and shipped orders, managed inventory, and performed customer support.

I went to the University of California, San Diego to complete my bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, but this ended up not being what I wanted to do. It was not enough to fulfil my passion for building and creating. I studied the fundamentals of Computer Science on my own and through as many software and CS courses as I could and this continued through graduate school. I was fortunate enough to be accepted into the 5-year B.S./M.S. program and finished both of my degrees in 5 years.
